The Signed Editions generally include Certificates of Authenticity (COA's) with regard to the signature. If they are a numbered edition it will printed on the same page as the signature the number of the edition and the signed total in the set (i.e. 205/1000).
Signed editions that are not part of a numbered set may have many copies out there so shop around before buying one. John McCain's signed Easton Press books are unnumbered and there has been a spike in demand for them given his candidacy.
A Signed Edition that appears to be part of a numbered set but has the edition number blank (i.e __/1000) is potentially a rare short print run of the author's personal copies. Generally an author signing for Easton Press is given anywhere from 25-50 copies of their signed edition but they are left un-numbered and technically are not part of the print run.
